Breaking into the sports industry is not going to be an easy feat. There are many others wanting to work in sports and the sports industry is a very demanding industry. There are a lot of sacrifices I will have to make, but I believe I am ready to make sacrifices to work in an industry that I have a lot of interest in. I would like to work in the planning, organizing, and management of sporting events.

Starting in the sports industry, there are going to have to be many changes. These changes may include money, home, travel, vacation, and many other factors. An article I read recently described the time that it will take to begin in the industry. Many people working within sports have sacrificed holidays and time to make their career work. It will also take a lot of hard work. Being that so many people want to be in the industry, there has to be something that distinguishes me from the others. Sending a resume to the president of the company will not work in this day and age. What am I going to do to set myself from the others? I have to create opportunities for myself that will get me the experience I need to show the people in the industry that I can do what I need to do. I will have to get the experience through internships and learning to work within the industry and build my skills in sales and marketing as well.

There are many different places that I found that show opportunities for working within the sports industry. I currently follow, on Twitter, the Work In Sports feed. This shows many different opportunities available within the industry. This is a site that asks for a fee to view the different jobs, but I believe there are many opportunities available by paying the fee. I have also worked within the Sports Networker site. I believe that is a good source for finding opportunities in sports as well.

Overall, I have to distinguish myself from all the many others looking for jobs in the sports industry as well. I have to look for internships that allow me to show my skills. These internships, for example, could include sales jobs working for a large sports facility...maybe the Dallas Cowboys stadium. I could use the tools above to look for a job in the industry as well, maybe something similar to that spoken of previously.
